When you book with Hopfares, your money and your trip are covered by two of the UK's most recognised travel protection schemes — ATOL and ABTA. Here's what that means for you.
ATOL — protecting your money
Hopfares Tourism Limited holds ATOL number 11806, issued by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
ATOL is the official UK financial protection scheme for flights and flight-inclusive holidays. If we were ever unable to fulfil your booking, ATOL ensures:
- You get a refund if you haven't travelled yet, or
- You're returned to your original point of departure at no extra cost if you're already abroad.
When your booking is confirmed, you'll receive an ATOL Certificate attached to your confirmation email. This certificate is your proof of protection for your specific trip — keep it with your travel documents.
You can verify our ATOL membership any time through the CAA's official ATOL Holder Check using number 11806.
ABTA — protecting your service experience
Hopfares Tourism Limited is an ABTA Member, number P8283.
ABTA is the UK's leading travel trade association. Our membership means:
- We follow ABTA's Code of Conduct for honest, transparent service.
- If something goes wrong and we can't resolve it directly, you have access to ABTA's independent arbitration scheme — a low-cost way to settle disputes without going to court.
- Our staff and processes are held to professional standards reviewed by ABTA.
You can verify our ABTA membership through ABTA's Find a Member tool using number P8283.
What these schemes don't cover
We want to be straightforward about scope:
- Delays, cancellations, or service issues caused by the airline or hotel are the responsibility of the carrier or accommodation provider, not Hopfares. Most have their own complaints and compensation processes.
- Medical cover, lost baggage, and trip-interruption cover aren't part of ATOL or ABTA — we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance separately.
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions) are typically excluded from both schemes' guarantees.
If something goes wrong
- Contact us first — most issues can be resolved quickly via our customer support.
- Unresolved disputes — escalate to ABTA's arbitration scheme.
- Financial concerns covered by ATOL — contact the CAA.
We're committed to making your trip a great one — and to being there if anything doesn't go to plan.
